Africa is not poor because Africans do not make efforts to lift themselves out of poverty. I even find them quite active, but on the wrong side, in the wrong league. We say here that they run in the bag. They are completely off-topic. Since the empire, politics has learned that nothing destabilizes a country like a hungry people. I am often surprised to see that despite this evidence, African leaders continue to invest more state financial effort in colonial crops like cocoa and coffee, and in Nigeria's case, in condiment cultivation like tomatoes, which are not a priority, at the same time the country's vice president declares a public health emergency for its own people.
