At this moment, in Yaoundé, a delegation from the European Union is trying to convince the Cameroon authorities to sign the final free trade agreement between Cameroon and the 28 countries of the European Union. The online newspaper Médiapart reports comments by a member of this delegation who says the signing this accord is a foregone conclusion. This is the third time in less than a month I have returned to this subject to ask the Cameroonian authorities not to commit the fatal mistake of signing such an agreement. Several Cameroonian specialists have done some very first-rate analysis in the same vein to beg, implore the Cameroonian authorities to have the courage to resist pressures which the European Union, like mobster eager to fleece his prey, has been pushing Cameroon towards the historical error of completely losing its sovereignty, by signing a document which has no benefit to the people of Cameroon. Here are some reasons: 1 - TO INDUSTRIALIZE NATIONS MUST CLOSE-UP Throughout history, no country has met the challenge of industrialization without first closing-up on itself. U.S., China through Switzerland or even South Korea, where the mere fact of buying a German sedan would trigger a tax audit. On good way to remind the public that “buy Korean” was the order of the day. But for our analysis, it may be useful, if we at least inspect the self-sufficiency of The United States of America. The industrial revolution was born in Europe in the 18th century. At that time , the U.S. had just gained her independence , and was still a country with an agriculture-based economy. In the 19th century there was the realization that , if the country should remain agricultural, independence will never be effective.
